Jurassic Journey

Ben Osborne's story of the Dorset and East Devon World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coast, inspired by its geology, wildlife, culture, its people and its landscapes.

The Jurassic Journey project is an exciting fusion of photography, digital imagery, music, poetry and sculpture made from flotsam and jetsam. Since 2009 award-winning wildlife photographer, Ben Osborne, has been recording a visual and audio diary of his experiences as he travels the Coast. Ben has collaborated with other artists (musician Sammy Hurden, sculptor Lal Hitchcock, and poet Matt Harvey) and taking counsel from scientists, especially geologists, to develop a landmark touring show celebrating the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. This exhilarating audio-visual presentation of his journey will tour rural communities in Dorset and Devon from February 2011 onwards.

An exhibition reflecting the work of all four artists will visit key venues on the Coast and inland communities in Dorset and Devon from autumn 2011 onwards. The show and exhibition will then tour other venues throughout the UK.

Jurassic Journey is a collaborative project developed by Ben Osborne, commissioned by Artsreach and Villages in Action in association with the Fine Family Foundation, the WHS Jurassic Coast Arts Team, Dorset and East Devon AONB teams, East Devon and West Dorset District Councils, and Arts Council England.
