This innovative participatory project took place in five villages
across Devon. Each village worked with three professional artists
over a period of time to produce a performance or event or exhibition
that celebrated Devon's links with other parts of the world.
Villages taking part were: Cadleigh; Uffculme; Brampford Speke; South
Brent; Shaldon.
Uffculme: "Drum it Home" Festival of Karen Culture:
Friday Sept 23rd- Sunday October 2nd.
Shaldon: Final Event: “Children of the Tide” Exhibition/Film
show at Shaldon School on June 24th. This project is also part of the regional
"Tide and Time" project.
South Brent:
Final event “The Spice of Life” on May 8th
Brampford Speke/Upton Pyne: “Coming Home” event took place
on July 2nd 7.30pm to 11pm. Picnic, puppets, procession and candles.
Cadeleigh:
Final Event and procession was on 25th June
The next step will be to evaluate the project and decide how best to develop our partipatory work with villages.
